Daniela C. Lay was born in 1983 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. From the early age of four, Daniela moved back and forth from North to South America with her parents and three brothers till 2001, when, at seventeen, she left home in Palo Alto, California to study Spanish in Barcelona, where she obtained a DELE diploma (Diploma de Espanol como Lengua Extranjera) in December 2002. For the seven years that followed she moved to Madrid where she spent the first year traveling through Europe and exploring the whole of Spain including all the islands. The following year was spent studying professional photography at EFTI, where she obtained her professional Photography Diploma. She went on to study at La Universidad Europea de Madrid, where she received a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts in August of 2008. Since then Daniela moved back to California, this time to San Francisco. She recently completed additional courses at the San Francisco Art Institute and is currently exhibiting paintings and graphics at several venues in San Francisco including Yabbies, Flipp and the Diego Rivera Gallery. She has recently been recognized as Artist of the Day on CasaSugar.com, to be published this week. She has also been published in the coffee table book Principe de Asturias, Magma Cultural, Brasil.
